RIFLE SHOOTING

Last Saturday a team of Foxton riflemen journeyed to Bulls, and fired 1 a friendly match with the liangitikei Rifle Club. The team left Foxton by car at 11.30, and shooting commenced at 1.30, at ranges of 300, 500 and 000 yards, seven shots at,each. Fine weather prevailed, with a light though gusty left rear breeze, and shooting was fairly good throughout. The contest was very close, Foxton winning by 4 points only —681 to 677. The best scores were: Broughton 94, Tojiu ,93, Hamer 92, and Head 90.

A return match will he fired on the local range next Saturday, under stupe conditions. Shooting will commence at 1 o’clock sharp.
