ROYAL PICTURES
Miss Alinter lias been seen in a number of unusually delightful comedies and comedy-dramas of late, but it may safely be said that as far as the number of laughs are concerned “The Amazing Imposter,” to he screened at the Royal tonight, puts all her previous pictures well in the shade. The complications increase as the. picture goes along, and befor.e°“The Amazing Imposter” is done .the spectator finds himself in a paroxysm of mirth at the whole aspect of the heroine’s predicament. “She Loves and Lies,” Saturday’s star attraction, featuring the popular Norma Talmadge, is one of those plays that interests at the start, grows in suspense, and ends with a climax that contains a surprise. Norma Talmadge has the best opportunity of her career for comedy work, 'and shows that she is talented, in this line. Conway Tearle, her handsome leading man, also has a role well suited to his talents. Altogether “She Loves and Lies” is a delightful comedy with an-unusually good plot. On Monday an extra double holiday programme will he screened, when two special Fox features will be included in the bill of fare. Ihe first is another Tom Alix thriller. It is called “Fighting for Gold,” and is based 1 on the book “The Highgrader,” written by William Alacleod Raine. Alix does many stunts, and his company contains a number of exceedingly capable screen actors.
The second Fox feature is "The Girl With No Regrets,” featuring Peggy Hvland. Her troubles begin when" she finds herself suddenly in the midst of a gang of crooks, and they continue up to the moment of a thrilling climax —which is brought about by the attempt of burglars to steal a valuable collection of gems. When this climax is reached—but that would be telling tales out of school.
