The greatest and longest of alt bis pictures, “The Toll Gate,” is the sole work of AYnY S. Hart, who wrote, directed, and acted the picliire. When this masterpiece is Hashed on the screen at. the Town Hall to-night patrons will find a, gripping story, many exciting scenes and marvellous acting. Among the sensational scenes are the underground river—a wafer trail —the interior of a bandit cave, the mail train hold-up. the burning of the ‘‘Ace" Saloon, the high cliff’s overlooking the little cabin on the border river, from which “Black” Deering leaps sixty feet into the water to rescue a baby boy. To sum up, "The Toll Gate” is an achievement, and with the support of “The Great Gamble" serial, and Paramount Magazine, not forgetting the figures of the second count of .Carnival Queen voles, makes up a splendid programme.
