JAPAN APOLOGISES.
SHOOTING OF AN AMERICAN OFFICER. Washington, Feb. 22. Mr Buinbridge Colby (Secretary of State) has announced that Japan has apologised for the shooting of Lieutenant Langdon, and indicates that besides the suspension of General Nissi Kara, the barracks and assistant officer, and the regimental and company commander have been sentenced to terms of imprisonment. The sentry was sentenced to thirty days’ confinement, being guilty of deception in giving his testimony.
