MURCHISON BANK ROBBERY.
MONEY RECOVERED
The whole of the money missing from the Bank of New Zealand brunch at Murchison has been recovered. It amounted to over ,£2,000. The police found it “planled” under a bridge in Murchison. It will be remembered that the teller (Mr Wilfred Engall) at the Murchison bank complained to the police that lie had been bound and gagged by two men, at between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., and lie some four hours later freed himself. The men secured his keys and rifled the safe, taking over £2,000. NO CLUE TO PERPETRATOR Nelson, Feb. 20. Other than the recovery of the stolen money, there have been no further developments in connection with the Murchison bank robbery. The money, which was found under a bridge in the vicinity of the township, was wrapped up in a brown paper parcel. No direct clue has been discovered as to how the stolen money was conveyed to and deposited under the bridge.
