BOXING.

The Harris-Curran light-weight contest, which took place at Palmerston on Tuesday, resulted in a draw.

In the preliminary bouts, Renner, Mangamaire, lOst. 21bs. met Bowe, Foxton, 9st. 101bs., who showed their paces through four rounds, in which there was not a great deal of science. Nevertheless both were willing, and the display on occasions caused roars of laughter. Referee Captain Stewart decided_that it was a draw.
