Clausen, 12. s per yard; Eongotea-Longburn road, 11. Clausen, 7s (id per yard. It was resolved that all outstanding rates be sued for. The Engineer reported re the Awahoit Riding as follows; —Councillor Barber and myself made an inspection of the Boundary road between the Fox lon borough and the county, which several ratepayers requested should be formed and metalled. Owing to the natural formation of the county being drift sand, it is not considered advisable to undertake this work at present, and we think it would be in the interests of the ratepayers to have the road fenced oil and planted with trees, as a much easier road leading to Foxton can he obtained in the borough. We also made an inspection of the Ivari Kari road, with a view of grading this road with the road grader. There is. about 3 miles of this road, and owing to the growth of grass and rubbish of every kind it would cost about £SO per mile. This road apparently is only used for stock, and not very much for that class of traffic, and it is a question for the Council to decide when money is urgently needed on roads used by a number of rate-
payers. I have let the quarrying and carting of metal for the Whirokiuo to Mr H. Coley for the sum of 9s per yard.
