MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD

A meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held last night. Present: Messrs F. S. Easton (chairman), Chrvstall, Barber and King. The- Treasurer reported a credit to

interest account £135 3s lOd, a-

gainst which interest £lO7 16s lid and £ls 0s 6d were payable. The general account was shown as £35 Is Od in credit.

Correspondence was received from Jno. -Chambers and Son, re various pumps.-—The Clerk was instructed to get further information re dock pump with capacity of a million cubic feet of water in 9o minutes.

Correspondence re class of flood gates in general use was received

from Air Burkett, recommending that an opinion be obtained from a qualified engineer, as it would he ridiculous for him to offer an opinion off-hand. It was decided to obtain an estimate of cost of extra gates of the same style as those on Buckley Creek, and to leave the matter of erection to the Chairman. It was decided to invite tenders for the usual drain cleaning, and the acceptance or otherwise lie left t<> the Chairman.
