OBITUARY.

JAMES HENRY ROBINSON—AGED 03 YEARS.

It is with regret that we record the death of Mr James Henry Robinson, which took place at his residence, “Herrington,” Beach Road, Foxton, yesterday afternoon, v 63 years. About six weeks ago deceased was stricken with an internal trouble, which, despite skilled attention and devoted nursing, proved fatal. . Deceased was the second son of the late Captain Francis Robinson, one of the pioneer settlers of the Manawatu, and was horn in Foxton. He received his early education in Foxton and_M ellington, and for many years managed his late father's estate. About 32 years ago lie married a daughter of the late Captain Armstrong, of Akaroa, and took up his residence in (he Lady’s Mile, subsequently removing to lii's farm at No. 2 Line. Some years ago he disposed of his farm and built and resided at “Herrington, 5 ’ where he passed away. In the early days deceased took an interest in racing, and owned several horses, and up to the time of his death was a steward of the local Racing Club. Although he did not take any, active part in public affairs, his generosity in assisting any deserving cause which had for any object the advancement of the district and its inhabitants was well known. It can be truly said of him that he was one of nature’s gentleman, honoured by all with whom he was acquainted, a devoted husband and father. He leaves a widow, four sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. r l wo 01. iiis sons, Roy and Leslie, served with the New Zealand Forces in the Great War. In common with tlie public of Foxton we join in extending our heartfelt sympathy to the widow, children and family of the deceased.

The funeral will take place to? morrow (Sunday) ,leaving deeeus. oil's late residence at 2 pan. for All Saints’ Church, and thence to the Foxton cemetery.
