DEATH OF A CHINAMAN

Timant, Jan. 30. An inquest was held to-day into the death of Veelc 1 ai, a Chines laundryiuan, who had been in business in Stafford Street for four months, and who slashed his throat with a razor yesterday afternoon. His i'aiher-in-law, who resided with him, went upstairs to fetch him to deal with customers, and found him lying on the floor. At tiie inquest it was staled l lull deceased was about 43 years of age. His wife and family were in China. The father-in-law said deceased was in good spirits shortly hefoie, and had never complained of being in ill-health. He was doing well in business, but was in debt to witness and others to the .etxent of a few, hundretl pounds.
