LIFE-SAVING APPARATUS.
FIN A NCI A L ASS) ST A N C-E URGENT.
Mr A. G. Daw irk, secretary of the Beach Improvement Committee, writes us from Palmerston io-da.v as follows:—
“Re the life-saving reel. 1 have got it fairly forward, and am at present held up owing to lathe work required. 1 have- not received a single donation of cash here, but! the business people have assisted with material. Considering all the money we have spent at the Beach for benelits free to the public, it is? very disappointing that we can’t raise a few pounds for a worthy cause. 1 have not ordered the line and life-belt. yet. T want to see, what financial help is forthcoming. 1 would like to know if you have had any response from Foxton. Donations are again solicited for this worthy object.
