M, Barr) has received a communication from Mr Leigh Hunt, slating that he is prepared to give a lecture at an early date in Foxton on Town Planning. Mr Hunt ha salso consented to deliver a lecture on Scott’s last: Polar expedition to the local school children. Mr Hunt’s offer is in response to a request made to him by (he president of the Chamber of Commerce some time ago. ’Both lectures should he of considerable interest to the local public.

The Commissioner of Taxe--draws the attention ’of taxpayers to \ he notification appearing in today's issue that the due date of payment of the Income-tax and Special War-tax is on Monday, the 7th day of February, 1921. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 28th February, 1921. The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 31st .Janunrt-, 1921. If should be noted, however, that individuals whose surnames commence with the letters I, J, K. N, 0, P will not receive their demands until some-days later, In these eases a new due date, viz., 21st February, 1921, will be fixed under section 127. Additional tax'will accrue twenty-one days thereafter.
