BATHING AT EBB TIDE.

DESPITE recent narrow escapes from drowning, and fatalities recorded, owing to bathers venturing out beyond their depth in the breakers during ebbtide, several venturesome. spirits were to be seen taking risks on Sunday afternoon at the local seaside. The risk bathers run in the circumstances not only to themselves, bul to others who may go to their rescue, can not ho too strongly emphasised. We would suggest that notices be placed in prominent positions at the seaside, pointing out the danger of l , swimming beyond the breakers at ebb tide. Tlie local beach is one of the safest for sea- bathing in the Dominion, provided bathers are guided b y common sense.
