Manawatu Herald TUESDAY, JANUARY 18, 1921. SCHOOL CENTRAL HALES.
THE Minister for Education lias stated that the central hall idea for schools has liccn abandoned. In the local school wide corridors were substituted, and sanctioned by the Department, through which I lie wind howls from the weather quarter. The space taken up by these corridors is greater than what would have been required for a Central ball, and limy are practically useless. The money would have been spent to better advantage on (he erection of a wide verandah on the eastern side for open-air classes, and to prevent the sun’s rays from streaming into the class rooms. Yes. we are very proud of our school; but the wide corridor in this instance is 'a‘huge blunder.
