-At. the Educational Institute this morning I lie discussion on the question of a union for teachers was resinned. The first half of the remit, “that the time is opportune tor the formation of a union of teachers,” was lost by 55 voles to Jive, and the second portion of: the remit was withdrawn..

Air Harrison (Auckland) moved that the executive request the Minister of Education to set up a coni' mittee of six, three to be elected by the Institute, and three by the Department, with the Minister as chairman, for the purpose of reviewing all "the deliverances of the Department aitd all requests of the institute before their final adoption'. The motion was lost on the voices.
