ROYAL PICTURES.
At lhe Royal to-night a double Fox programme will be screened. In “The Scarlet Road,” Gladys Broekw*ell will he featured, and Peggy Hyland will be seen in “Caught in the Act.” , v To-morrow night the latest v-tig-lish picture, “In the Gloaming,” will be shown. The picture is founded on the famous song, the words of. which are freely quoted throughout the picture. A simple love story turns with dramatic suddenness into tragedy, Misunderstanding p"ils two lives—to meet again later, when the shadows seem to have lifted. But Bate again forces the two ap.irt It seems “best for you and lit for me,” as the song puts itand not until a human life U saen- : Heed do the clouds lift. In spite of its dramatic, intensity, the picture is rever morbid. The events seem logical in spite of coincidences; the interest is sustained throughout, and the speetatoLcannot help but speculate as to what the ultimate result will be. During the screening the song will be sung.
