AN INFANT POISONED. Hastings, Dee. 27. The eleven months old daughter of Archibald Hinds died yesterday afternoon shortly after swallowing some tabloids accidentally dropped in a room by her aunt, who was using them for neuritis. Medical aid was available,soon after, but the child collapsed. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death from strychnine poisoning was returned. DROWNING AT WANGANUI. Wanganui, Dec. 24. Percy Stitt, about 22 years of age, was drowned at Castleeliff this morning. Deceased was a visitor from Wellington, where he was employed in the G.P.O.
