BOWLING.

A very successful pairs tournament was played on the local green on Christmas Day, ten pairs takingpart. The green was in good order, and a most enjoyable day's play resulted. Four games of 12 heads each played, and the result -was decided on the aggregate points scored. The following handicaps were declared’: —Pearson and F. Whitley 1, Mercer and Woods (i, MeKnight and Reid 0, Ball and McColl (5, Roore and Huntley 7, .Smith and Crawley 7, .John Ross and Barr 8, Furrie and Christie 8, Parkin and Bryant 9, and H. Whibley and \\ ilford 10. The following are the details of flic play;—

First round. —Mercer and Woods 15 beat Parkin and Bryant 10; Pearson and F. Whibley 22 beat JKo.ss and Barr 8; Roore and Huntley 1(5 beat Furrie and Christie 7; Smith and Crawley 1(5 beat McKnight and Reid 3, D. Whibley and Wilford 14 beat Ball and McColl 12. Second round. —Huntley 12 beat Crawley 9, Christie 1(5 beat- Whibley .14, Wilford 12 beat Barr 10, Woods 18 beat Reid 8, McColl 13 beat Brvanl 10.

Third round. —Woods 24 heal Barr 7, Wilford 12 beat Bryant 8, McColl 12 beat Reid 9, Whibley 20 beat Huntley 12, Crawley 1(5 beat Chi’istie 11. Fourth round. —Woods 1(5 beat Whibley 11, Barr 11 beat McColl 10, Huntley 15 beat Bryant 7, Crawley 14 beat Wilford 12, and Reid and Christie tied 9 all.

The total points scored by each team (plus handicap) was as follows: —Mercer and Woods 7!J, Pearson and F. Whibley 68, Roore .and Huntley 62, Smith and C'raw■Jey 62, D.
