RIFLE SHOOTING

Last Saturday, amid tine weather, the second shoot for the. Sy-mons-Franldand trophies was held, -at 300 aud 000 yards. There was a very slight westerly, and the light was variable, but some good scores were made. Mr H. Hamer (shooting on Wednesday) made 48 and 43 —9l off the rifle. The scores were as follows:' — Yds. The last shoot for the above trophies will be hold on Saturday, January Bth, 1921, at ranges of 500 and 600 yards. The following members will represent Foxton at the Wanganui Championship Rifle Meeting on the 271 h and 28th inst.: —Messrs J. Rider, J. Hartley, A. Barnard, S. Head, H. Frankland, H. Graham, and H. Hamer. Besides competing individually, a team of five will enter for the champion teams match, at 600 yards. A number of the above riflemen are leaving by car. on Sunday afternoon, and the others are making the trip by rail.
