FIRES AT TAUMARUNUI.
Taumarunui, Yesterday. There have been two tires at Taumarumii. The Ampliil! boardinghouse of 17 rooms was gulled at 8 o’clock on Saturday night. The tire had a good bold before the brigade was not died. There were a woman and her children and one boarder in the house when ilie lire broke out. They escaped. The origin of the lire is unknown. The fund hire was owned by Mi'.- Carter, and insured for £225. The building’ was owned by H. E. Winger, and was in-aired. The second fire occurred on Sunday afternoon, in Rowan and Carrington's cabinet-making works and K. T. Brown's storeroom. Both were gulled. The brigade and a -plcmlid water pressure saved a large block of wooden building- in the main street. The buildings and -tuck were insured.
