ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH.
PRESENTATION. TO ‘MISS BETTY.
On Priday evening, in All Saint-’ Sunday School, a social evening was given by the Vestry dial Choir ■ f All Saints’ Church (o Mi-- Belly, the organist, who is (o be married shortly. Musical items were given by Mr Poole, Mr Moorhouse, Misses Hawke, E. King and R. King. After supper the Vicar presented .Miss Betty, on behalf id.’ the A estry and Choir, with a tea service. The teapot was. inscribed as follows : “Presented to Miss Betty by the Choir and Veslry of All Saints' Church, Paxton, on the occasion of her marriage.”
After tin; Vicar had wished Miss Betty a long>; and happy life, members of the Vestry voiced their expressions of appreciation of her ,-ervices. Air Tver (churchwarden), Messrs [,. J. Furrie, W. Nye, W. E. Barber, "F. S. .Moorhouse, all were unanimous in stressing tin? valuable serviees Miss Betty had rendered, and pointed out the importance of good music in mu- church worship. Miss Betty had .-ef a high standard, and her work, both in Pox-ton and at Oroua Downs and Marotiri, was very much appreciated. Airs Frank Robinson also spoke on behalf of the ladies, thanking the choir members also for'their work in making the evening a success. Mr Betty responded on behalf of Iris daughter, Blanking all for their kind words.
The evening closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Byne.”
