AFFORESTATION OF SAND DUNES.

The Mauawalu A. and P. Association, Palmerston North, wrote informing Hie Horowhenua County Council, at Saturday's meeting, that it had been suggested that a West Coast Advisory Committee he set up to work in conjunction with the Forestry Department in connection witli Ihe proposed afforestation of sand dune areas on this coast, and asked if the Council would nominate a delegate to act on same. It was proposed to hold a meeting on a date to be fixed, to which Captain M. Fdlis was to he invited, with the object of discussing the question. A later communication from the Association stated that the conference had been fixed for January 12th, 1021, at the A. and P. Buildings at Palmerston North, It was unanimously decided that the chairman (Cr. G. A. Monk) lie the Council’s delegate at Hie conference.
