ABOUT A RACEHORSE.
CLAIM IX SUPREME COURT. Hamilton, Dec. 10. In the Supreme Court, .Frank Morley sued John Hetet for possession of- the racehorse Tama-a-roa, which recently disappeared from To Arulm, and L'3oo alleged damages. Hotel counter-claimed 1200, alleged damages and wrongful detention, Morley claimed that he leased tfft. horse to Hetef for two years, and was to receive half its winnings. Hetet. claimed that the horse was given to him unconditionally by Morley, The judge commented strongly at one stage on Morley’s evidence. He said il was a dishonest thing to claim possession when he admitted, under pressure of cross-examination, that he knew the whereabouts of the horse, having received possession of it at 4.20 on the morning of its disappearance. The judge also asked Morley how ho could expect to he believed when he admitted telling this to some people. The jury returned a verdict for Hetet in both .eases; Hetet to receive the horse. No damages were awarded.
