The public of Foxton is warned by Hie "Gills’ Guild that decks are cleared for action against starvation, disease and death. They have heard of the heartrending appeal from countless thousands of bereaved mothers in Poland, Serbia, Jugoslavia, (’/.echo Slovakia, Armenia, Hungary, and oilier countries begging for food for their starving haliies. Fi've millions of children are suffering from hunger and exposure in a bleak' European winter. If we allow those innocent little ones to ur.’W up mentally ami physically weak, they will become a menace P> die peace of the world. If we as British people neglect them now the diseases that are ragng amongst ■■(hem will spread, with lire results, maybe even to this Dominion. * His Majesty the King, The Prince W Wales, Mr Lloyd George, Lord and Lady Jellicoe, and many other notable personages, endorse the appeal on behalf of those poor starving children. The fund is administered in London by the British Red Cross Soci-' Gy and the Society of Friends (Quakers), whoso representative;' mostly British men and women — are working in the famine areas. Shall New Zealanders, ever generous, turn boldly away Imm this cry from helpless, innocent babies, because it has been said that in the past others haw been assisted perhaps 100 liberally. Foxtail's efforts include a Picture Entertainment, the Girls Simp Ihn, and retiring Church Collections. Remember', we are on the vcige of celebrating the nativity id Him who said, “Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of the least of these ye did it unto Ale.” Help the Fund! * * * ' K Here's another generous gift!
