ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

. John Poland Ivohertson, manager of the Horotiu freezing works, was killed this morning. It appearllnu Ifotierrson iind Whylij. another employee of the company, were motoring from Horoiiu to Hamilton, when the wheel-; skidded in louse sand, and the ear overturned, pinning the occupants beneath. Hubert son was killed outright, but Whyte escaped with a few bruises. Deceased was aged 50, and leaves a wife and seven children. Hastings, Yesicrday.
Jolm Preston, aged G 5 years, formerly a gardener at Maraekakaho, dropped dead in a local stables yesterday afternoon. He complained of feeling unwell, and expired in a few minutes.
