A very enjoyable evening resulted, but it was felt that more praetiee was needed before they < mild hope to uphold the preside,e of Foxiun in chess circles with any deyree or success. It is hoped to arrange syslomatie praetiees, at whicli all the players will meet one another in turn. Diversify of play linis obtained, with a little study of some of the openings, will very soon make a considerable di(l‘e«enee, for all the players are enthusiastic and eaiper to yet into lone of battle. We are asked to state that Mr Tver will be ylad to receive the names of anyone interested in the yame, or who desire to learn.
