THE BOROUGH BAND.
MEMBERS of the Borough Band wailed upon (lie Council last night and discussed the ’’bone of eon lento iv’ re the custody of the band instruments. It appears that the Council in terms of agreement with (ho Band had the right to call in the instruments, presumably for any good and sufficient reason. This agreement would naturally override any previous arrangement. The Council expressed its will bigness to hand over the instruments to the Band, and in other avuvs • Avas sympathetic. It, hoaV remains fete the Band to enlist the practical sympathy of toAvnspeople to reform and put (his deserving institution on a. sound basis. Buxton possesses (be musical talent, and avc are sure a generous public will provide the money to properly equip the Band and 'encourage such a deserving institution. We suggest the calling
of a public meeting to discuss the subject.
