Manawatu Herald TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1920. SCHOOL SEPTIC TANK.
THE Minister lor Education sanctioned a grant of £2,000 for septic tank, latrines and shelter sheds for the local State school. The Committee Availed upon the Minister in rofcrencje to this matter when he visited Pox ton. Since the granting 1 of the £2,000 the borough Avater and drainage loan proposals have been carried, and the Committee asked the Board, in vieAv of this fact, to cut out the septic tank, as the school could he more economically served in the matter of drainage, Avater supply and sanitation under the borough scheme. At last night’s Committee meeting it avus stated that no reply had been received from the Board to lavo communications forwarded on the subject. We do not think, hoAvever, that the Board will attempt to carry out the septic tank scheme under the circumstances, and flie Committee is aAvaiting Tts decision.
