RIFLE SHOOTING.
The first shoot for Mr F. Robinson’s trophy —10 shots at 200 and 000 yards—held last Saturday, was well attended. Fine weather prevailed, with a fresh south-westerly breeze. Some good scores were made, Mr Hartley putting up the line total of 9(5 off the gun. The handicap limits for “A” section were 40 at each range, and for “B” section 40 at each range. The scores were as follows :
To-day the second shoot; for the above trophy is being 1 held. Extensive alterations to the targets and frames are being made this week, and a now system of swing targets will he tried. It is anticipated that much less (rouble will he experienced, and that shooting will he finished a good deal earlier in the afternoon.
