WAR DEFAULTERS.
NO MORE PROSECUTIONS
The Prime Minister announced in Hie House of .Representatives on Tuesday that Cabinet had decided that from the anniversary of the armistice .on TIHi November (hero would be no more prosecutions of! conscientious objectors or military defaulters. What Cabinet had done in this, respect, however, did not make any difference to the defaulters who had been deprived of,their civil rights for a period. He believed that at present there were no conscientious objectors in gaol.
Air Witty; “Dot's that mean that those who have not been caught will not be bothered about?” The Prime Minister: “After the anniversary of the armistice.” Mr Tsitt asked if this meant that those who failed to attend drill would he allowed to escape Hie penalty. The Prime Minister replied that the decision, had nothing to do with that matter. They understood that there were a nnmljgr of men in hiding. It was to such that the decision applied.
