THEFT OF BENZINE.

“This s a particularly unfortunate case,” said Mr Keith Kirkcaldie, when Crank Lawton was arraigned before the Wellington Supreme Court, 'yesterday, for theft of benzine, (he property of his employers, Levin and Co. He said that Lawton knew the offence was a serious one against the community, ;{nd yet into it with his eyes open; therefore, be could not expect to go scot free. He, would be sentenced to ■ six months’ imprisonment with bafd labour.
