FIRE.

BUILDING AND MOTOR LOBBY DESTROYED. At about three o’clock yesterday moraine-, ;1 building belonging to Mr C. Petersen, containing- his big Jeffrey motor lorry and trailer, and other machinery, was totally destroyed by fire. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery. Air Petersen was away in Palmerston North, and the inmates of his bouse, a few hundred yards distant from the lire, knew nothing about the outbreak until about six o’clock. The building Was insured in the SouthBritish (Mice for £l5O, and the lorry and trailer in the Guardian Office for £BOO. Mr Petersen is a heavy loser, his loss above the insurances being in the vicinity of £I,OOO.
