DORCAS SOCIETY.

The committee of the Dorca ciety met on Friday, October Bth, in the Anglican schoolroom. There were present: Mesdames F. Robinson (in the chair), Moore, Walton. El ford, 0. Robinson, McMurray, Pearson, Barr, Also]) and A. Ross. The meeting was called to consider the position of the Society in view of having lost all their slock of clothing and three machines, two being - loaned from Mesdames Hamer and Hawke respectively, the other the properly of the Society and all the working materials, two large tin trunks (loaned by Mrs F. Robinson and Mrs C. Symons) for storing clothing, and the afternoon tea cf|iiipment. It was agreed to abandon regular sewing meetings until after the annual meeting in May, 1921, any cases needing assistance in the meantime to be attended to by calling a special meeting of workers. In the event, of this being necessary the use of the Anglican Guild room was offered by Mrs Walton; also she offered the loan of a trunk Lor storing garments.

A small subscription to Miss Isabel Sexton was subscribed to by the working members m appreciation of her assist si nee with weekly afternoon ten.

The Society would be pleased to receive parcels of leil-otl clothing. Parcels may be left at Mr A. -S. Smit h’s shop.
