CROQUET
The local croquet lawn is m excellent condition this year, and the lower portion Avas opened for play yesterday afternoon. Those Avho took part in the game yesterday expressed themselves as highly pleased Avith the condition of same. The official opening will take place on the same day as the bowling green, the 20th instant, but is open for practice by members a* from yesterday. The Eeilding and Otaki burns arc to be officially opened to-morroAV afternoon, and invitations to In; present have been extended to members of the local Club.
