BOWLING
At ;i meeting of the Committee of. the local Bowling Club on Saturday afternoon, a number of details in connection with the official opening on Wednesday, the 20th instant, were arranged. The green is coming on well, and should ho in excellent order this season, but a good deal of work' yet remains to be done, and in this connection the assistance of members is requird. There will be a working bee on the green to-morrow afternoon, and all members able to do so are requested to put in an appearance. At Saturday’s meeting three new members, Messrs J. Galland, C. Qnartcrman and R. Hynes, were elected, which brings the membership up to 63, Mr G. P. Walker has been appointed caretaker, and entered on his duties yesterday.
The Otaki green is to Do opened 10-morrow afternoon, and the Foxton Chib will re represented by one rink. The Feiiding official opening fakes place on Saturday next, and members wishing to attend this, or the openings of other (dubs, are requested to put their names on the board at the green, so that the necessary arrangements can he made.
