TENNIS CLUB BALL.

■ The annual ball held in I lie I own Hall on Tuesday night, was voted the most successful social function held this year. The attendance was good, and included a number of visitors form outside districts. The decorations were charming, and the Committee deserve a special word of praise in this connection for the time and labour spent on this work. Coloured streamers, representing the Club colours, were festooned from the centre light to the gallery, while the stage and walls wore tastefully set off with greenery. The supper tables were also very tastefully decorated. The floor and music were all that could be desired, while the catering by Mr Walk was, as several remarked, “on its own.” Mr Shaw carried out his duties as M.C. in a very capable manner. The committee responsible for the arrangements were; Mr S. Compton (secretary), Mrs S. Austin, Misses Barber, Messrs C. Bryant, S. Austin, S. Barber, G. Edwards, and McPherson.
