Wellington, Sept. 29. Alfred Maille, a resident of Kelhurn, was knocked down by a motor car in Courtenay Place this morning and admitted to the hospital, where he died two hours later. While three lads wefe out. shooting on a farm on No naan by road, near llawera, their gun was accidentally discharged, and one named Harvey received practically the full charge of No. 5 shot in the side of the face. Medical assistance was obtained, and the hoy was sent to the llawera Hospital. Te Kuiti, Sept. 2(i. It is reported by the police that a contractor named 1. Patterson was killed during a. blasting operation to road formation works beyond Mairoa. No details are available.
