LADIES’ CROQUET CLUB.
The annual general meeting of members of the Ladies’ Croquet Club was held yesterday afternoon. The following committee, was elected: —Mesdames Perrean, Ball, Parkes, Egans, McColl and Pearson (secretary). The annual subscription was fixed nt 255. reducible to one guinea if paid before .December 31 st; non-playing members to be admitted for Ids Gd. Two trophies have been presented for competition this year, for singles competitions for A and B players. The prospects for the coming season are particularly good, the membership at present totalling 30, and a number of new members are also coming in. The lawn is looking well, and it is expected Unit it will be til for play during the tirst week in October. The competitions last year were won as follows:—Champion singles, airs Perrean (second year in succession) ; doubles, Mesdames Parkcs and Moore; and twenty-minutes tournament, Mesdames Ball and Graham.
