RUSHED INTO SEA.

AN EXCITING INCIDENT. Auckland, Aug. dl. Residents in the vicinity of Curran Street and the beach at Ponsonby, were amazed this morning at seeing a man rushing wildly down Curran .Street towards the beach, erving out as he went. At some (amende stops leading down to the beach lie fell, injuring his head and leg. Picking himself up. he hurried on across the sand and into the harbour. Wiih amazing rapidity he gained deep water. Realising that something was truly amiss, a party set off in a boat and rescued the man, who was still in an excited slate. It appeal's that* he is a returned soldier, and* is evidently suffering from the effects of shell-shock. After the rescue tie was admitted to the hospital.
