TEACHERS’ HOSTELS.
THE need exists in Eoxlon for a hostel for young women. Lady teachers and others engaged locally experience great difficulty in obtaining suitable anrommodalion. In tael, had it not been for the kindly sympathy of private residents in taking members of the local teaching stun into their homes, (he Board would have been in a quandary in connection with carrying on the local school. As the years go on, male teachers are becoming more .scarce, ami already (here is a preponderance of females on the teaching staff,' and unless the Board can demise some means of providing suit-
able accommodation for them in cotta try districts, (hey will retuse to lake up positions. The Department will have to give teachers’ accommodation in country districts serious consideration in the near fit I tire.
