THE Levin School Committee has resigned in a body as a protest againsf 1 lie apathy of the Board and Department re providing necessary accommodation at the school. The following resolution was carried unanimously at Tuesday night’s meeting;—“Thai owing to having had no written assurance from the Board*, that the Department will proceed with the rooms at (he school, and the unsatisfactory comma idea 1 ion from (he Board, this committee resigns as a protest.” The same old trouble, (he result of triple control. Here is a case where the school accommodation is'crowded out. The local committee, consisting of intelligent business men, know the requirements of their school, yet they are compelled to fool lime by submitting essential and vital requirements |o an intermediary, which is "not conversant witliHocai conditions, to haggle over before passing the matter on (o the Department. The committee, instead of resigning, should have called a. public indignation meeting, and then treated direct with the Minister.
