SUGAR STRIKE OVER.
THE ■'TERMS OF SETTLEMENT,

'The sugar Avorkers have agreed 1>« resume work at (he earliest possible moment, and their ease Avill-bd referred. to an early silting of the Arbitration Court. At the conference the Government representatives agreed not to oppose such questions in "the demands of (he union as wages, work) ing hours, overtime, holidays, and retrospective pay.
In a statement* regaining the strike settlement, the Hon. E. P. Lee said the position actually was that the men Avere employed by tho Sugar Company, and therefore the Government was unable to make any direct arrangement with them. Ho 'had arranged for a special sitting of the Arbitration Court, and it would probably be held on Alonday. The Government Avould be represented, and would place before the court the wages, hours and output conditions Avhich it is prepared to agree to so far as it can, leaving tho court to improve these conditions if it deems it necessary to do so. Tim Department of Industries and Commerce came into the dispute because of the agreement made by the department with the Sugar Company, and because it Avas directly concerned Avitli the sale and distribution of sugar .throughout tint Dominion.
