DIVORCE CASES.

His Honour, Mr Justice Chapman, heard lour undefended petitions for dissolution of marriage at the Palmerston Supreme Court on Saturday.

Ethel Stevenson (Mr Cooper) asked for a. divorce from A\ alter Ernest Stevenson, barman, of Wellington, on the grounds of desertion. Decree nisi granted.

A native woman named Kate Louisa Enoka le Wauo (Mr Hurley) was granted a decree nisi against her husband, Pencliti Enoka te Wano, on the grounds of desertion. Annie Celia Iliggott (Mr Cooper), licensee of the Jubilee Hotel, Otaki, petitioned for a divorce from Frank Higgott, on the grounds of adultery. It was alleged that respondent had been living with a half-caste woman up till a few months ago. A decree nisi was granted. On the grounds of desertion a decree nisi, to be made absolute in three months, was made against Thomas Henry Richard Bradley, on the application of his wife, Alice Rnbina Jane Bradley (Mr Cooper). It was slated that the parlies were married at Dannovirke in 1908, and shortly afterwards went to live in Pahiatua. Respondent, in 1915, returned to Dannevirke. Since then he had not lived with petitioner. At present there- was a maintenance order operating against respondent for the payment of £1 a week for the upkeep of the children.
