GRANT FOR LOCAL STATE SCHOOL.
CABINET SANCTIONS £1.150
It will be remembered that when the Minister for Education, accompanied by Mr Ed. Newman, M.P., visited the local Stale school to perform the opening ceremony, the Committee asked for a grant for septic lank, etc., estimates for which had been prepared by the Board's architect. The Minister promised to look into the matter, and yesterday, the Chairman of Committee received the following telegram from the Hon. C. J. Parr: “I am pleased to inform you that Cabinet has approved of a grant of eleven hundred and fifty pounds towards cost of shelter sheds, latrines, septic tank, etc., for the Foxton school.” A similar telegram was received from Mr Edward Newman. The Board will now be enabled to put the work in hand which, when completed, will make our local school complete in every detail.
