ANSWERS SUMMARISED. A large number of answers . to members’ questions was circulated on Wednesday afternoon. Some of the more important are'summarised below.

A proposal to provide pensions for oi’pbans will be considered in connection with the amendment of the Pensions Act to be submitted this session.

The question of granting pensions to the blind will receive consideration when the proposed amendments to the Pensions Act are under consideration.

It is not proposed to introduce legislation for a Saturday half-holi-day until there is a general desire for it throughout the Dominion. The Government is already taking steps to encourage the formation of boys’ agricultural clubs. It is hoped to bring down a Motor Bill this session. Legislation to empower municipal councils to enter into business for the purpose of supplying the public with goods will receive consideration when the Municipal Corporations Bill is before Parliament. Arrangements have boon made to continue the collection of Maori records and data during next summer. Two new grinding plants for phosphate rock are being established near Auckland, and one near Christchurch. The Government is not financing these in any way. A Bill to amend the patents laws is in the hands of the Law Draftsman, and will be introduced in the House as soon as the measure has been completed. It is not intended to allow the shipping of the Dominion to be laid up on account of the jockeys’ dispute, and where a breach of the law takes place proceedings will be taken against the offenders. Legislation will be brought down this session to further restrict the landing of Chinese and Hindus. The House will have, an 'opportunity during the session of considering legislation in regard to light railways. The setting up of a Special Committee of the House to consider and report this session on the questions submitted by the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association to Parliamentary candidates at the last general election, is not at present deemed necessary.’
