CORRESPONDENCE.
(To Ihe Editor.) ' Sir.—l have rend with interest Mr Bauckham’s i explanation in Tuesday’s “Herald,” but I am afraid it is not very convincing. What does he' mean by his statement that he “sold all ho could* spare at the higher price”? It would also he in-, teresling to know how the local grocers managed to find out that they were' charging too much for sugar. Mr Bauckham states lhat,J‘whcn flour or sugar falls- in puice the public expects us to reduce the retail price immediately.” I might add that whaft the public expect and what they'get arc two very different things. What about tea, for instance ?.■ —I aiii, etc.,
