STATION AT RANGIOTU.
PROPOSAL POI\ REMOVAL,
The following let tor lias been received by Mr K. Newman, M.P., from Hie Rl. Hon. \\. F. Massey, Minister of Railways; —“With reference lo your letter of 12th May, in regard to the question ot improvements iu the accommodation at Rangiolu. I have the honour to inform you that in accordance with \our suggestion an ollieer ol the Department visited Rangiotu and met representatives of (he settlers, and heard their views. It is. however, found that the present slat ion site is not; suitable, and it is proposed to remove the station as soon as the more urgent; requirements have been met and funds are available. The work proposed lo he carried out will cost approximately 10,000, and will provide for belter accommodation for stocks and other purposes, instruct ions have been given for the telephone eonueetion with the bureau to be installed as soon as possible.”
