THIRD GRADE. / Rovers (>, Training Farm 0, Hui Mai 9, High School 0. JUNIOR MATCH. This game was played at Kuku on a very wet and heavy ground. Kuku won the toss, and eleetd to play down hill. They opened up very strongly, and for the first (garter of an hoinr had Foxton doing their best. However, the condition and combination of the visitors soon told on their opponents, and from a passing rush Kauri scored in the corner. The kick at goal was unsuccessful. From the drop-out. Foxton forwards returned the ball to Kuku territory, and from a scrum near the line Robinson broke away iuul scored. The kick again failed. The Blues rallied after this, and soon had Foxton. hard pushed, but they were not yet beaten. From a series of scrums on the Foxton line, Baker secured Hie leather and kicked out of the danger /one. O’Reilly following up and taking the ball as it was missed by the Blue full back, went right; through, scoring between the posts. Tho kick at goal failed. Half-time saw no further score. Kuku again opened up well, but their condition soon gave out, and Foxton had things all their own way. The Yellow-and-Blacks threw the ball about particularly well, considering the greasy condition it was in. Taylor kicked a very line goal , from a penalty, and tries were scor- * ed by Moses (2), Kauri, Green and Carter. The Kuku hacks were a very weak set, having no idea of combination, although their tackling was good. McLeavey at full back was, safe, and not easily bustled, and Perewara was probably the best of a rather good set of forwards. Mr flora Karautc gave complete satisfaction with the whistle.
