IX the course of his address at Taikorea, Mr Newman said lhal the proposed large expenditure on railway works at Palmerston North had caused the question of the LevinMarton railway (o he resuscitated. He hoped (he Government would see its way to permit the extension of the line to Marlon jun'dion, which would he of immense use to this district in many ways, and of great value to the country. Mr Newman’s statement as quoted from our Palmerston evening contemporary, appears somewhat vague, it may refer to the extension of the SandonFox ton light railway to the Marton junction. If any side issues are introduced the agitation will he abortive.
