ROYAL PICTURES.

The bill-of-fare at the Royal tonight includes the new Jewell production, “Pay Mo,” a strong melodrama of the Limber camps of the West, full of action and force. It is whit I might well be termed “it good red-blooded" story of men and women who mainly live outside the law. But in spite of Its strength and theme there is nothing otleusivc throughout; the story is well bundled, and the plot cleverly developed.

Mary Pick ford in “The noodium”'is a muddy heroine with a lofty purpose, and,, this adaptation of a famous story, “Burksc’s Army,” makes her second production from Iter own studio a sensational achievement. The little world-star liits, in her relatively short career, played many parts, Iml never has she so eclipsed herself as m “The Hoodlum,” veritably a picture of contrasts. Sice readies heights undreamed of. and shows ihitl she possesses the rare gilt of versatility in ;i degree that is, to say the least, astounding. If it were possible to add to the number of her millions of admirers, “The Hoodlum” will achieve that end, and will do more to render the mime of Mary Piekford a, monument of success and admiration than any previous effort. Don’t miss this picture. It will he shown to-morrow night only.
